Default How to Use a PS3 Controller on a PC

    Source

One industrious modder out there has created a simple program so you can use your PS3’s SIXAXIS controller on a PC like a game pad. Here’s what you’ll need to do:
    1. Download this archive and install the filter driver (libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.10.1.exe).
    2. Unpack ps3sixaxis_en.exe
    3. Plug the SIXAXIS into your PC.
    4. Run ps3sixaxis_en.exe once.
    5. Push the PS button on the SIXAXIS once if it doesn’t see it straight away.
Unfortunately, the motion sensing features aren’t possible on the PC (not yet as least). But still, this is pretty easy way to net yourself a free usable game pad.

This can be used for lots of PC games and emulators. Off the top of my head, this would work really well for games like Left for Dead or Halo.

Actually there is a driver that will allows for the motion sensing feature, as well as vibration that works on Windows XP, Vista and 7. I use my controller for games all the time.

You can get it from Motion Joy here.

yep i use my ps3 controller for my pc as well you can grab any bluetooth dongle and the controller will connect to that.

actually just recently they released new updates so now it can pretty much with a single button press emulate the xbox 360 control pad.

I remember when I tried out Motion Joy but couldn't get it working properly with Windows 7 x64. I didn't really play around with it for too long so unsure if there were actual issues or if my first attempt wasn't the luckiest. Either way, I went the super easy route and bought the USB wireless dongle for my XBOX360 controller. Plugged it in and have been using it ever since I've upgraded to Win7. Works like a charm.
