for those of you that do not have a Mac, as you know you must use QuickPwn to Jailbreak 3.0

and as we all know at this time QuickPwn 3.0 has not yet been officially released.

so the only way to upgrade to 3.0 and have it jailbroken is to use a custom IPSW that has already been made with Pwnage Tool for Mac.


now the problem that i experienced doing it this way was everytime i would put my phone into DFU mode and go to restore in iTunes i kept getting Error 1600 or Error 1601,

i have a workaround for this error.

what You need is the following:

iTunes 8.2

QuickPwn RC3 - RapidShare: Easy Filehosting

Old iPhone Firmware 2.0.2 - http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....1_Restore.ipsw



New 3.0 Custom IPSW -

For AT&T users use this file - iPhone1_2_3.0_7A341_Custom_Restore.Not_Activated.i psw - FileFactory

For Non-AT&T users (Unlocked with another carrier) - iPhone1_2_3.0_7A341_Custom_Restore.ipsw - FileFactory

K, now once you get all that open QuickPwn and choose the old firmware 2.0.2 that you downloaded.

go to the next step and just leave the settings the way they are.

click next and follow QuickPwns instrutions on putting your phone into DFU mode, (The "hold home for 5 secs...blah blah blah")

now as soon as your iPhone screen turns white you need to IMMEDITLY CLOSE QUICKPWN AND OPEN ITUNES.

now once your in iTunes it should give you a warning that says your phone is in restore mode and needs to be restored before continuing.


now Hold SHIFT and click restore, a browse window should come up and ask you to choose a file,

now pick the CUSTOM IPSW that you downloaded before.

hit OK and its all automatic from there, just wait for it to finish and it will reboot on its own adn you will be running OS 3.0 Jailbroken
