Reading a mathematic book while lying on the bed makes me fall asleep after 5 minutes :)

I drink warm, milky drinks like Horlicks. It warms my belly and helps me relax and I find it helps me drift off.
I know eating before sleeping is unhealthy, but I'm not totally certain about drinking. :)

I would add a few tricks:

If the weather is cold outside, open the windows widely 30 minutes before sleeping to have a fresh air for the night. And also cold air helps to sleep.

A sleeping cycle lasts 90 minutes. If you wake up at the end of a cycle you feel more rested. For example if you need to wake up at 5h30. You should try to fall asleep (!not going to bed) at 22h00 or 23h30 (+90 min cycle: 01h00--02h30--04h00--05h30).

Sometimes changing the position of your bed (head to North or South) also helps.

Before sleeping try to tell yourself at what time you wants to wake up. The body has a "natural watch". If as akaineko adviced, you keep the same bedtime, you might sometimes wake up 5 minutes before the alarm!

Finally tell yourself that if you have a nice resting night, next day of work will go smoother!

I find that one way to sleep well at night is to dedicate a room solely for sleeping and resting. I used to have everything (e.g., studying, playing, sleeping) all in the same room and I find I tend to get distracted at night. Sometimes the blinking HDD activity light can make my room look like a club!

That's actually true. I think that many men find they become very tired after having sex. It's happened a few times that I've dozed off after having fun with my gf and she told me the next day she didn't really appreciate it
