Thread: How to hide information in JPEG's w/o any special encrypting utilites.

As it is said - the best way to hide something from someone is to put that right before his eyes ^_^

So, let's begin. All you need is WinRar. For the smoothess of the process you can put the picture and the info you wanna hide into one directory. It is better to create a directory it the root directory of your hard drive. I gathered all i need in C:\Archive.

[Hint: You can rename the picture into some short name with 3-4 symbols.
This is because we are going to use the command prompt too.]

Now put the hideable files into the archive. Of course you can hide your most preciuos porn video from BD-disk into an 10Kb avatar pic, but J. Bond doesn't recommend that.

Now comes the magic. Open the command prompt, and goto your directory.
Then type copy /b <your image name>.jpg + <your archive name>.rar <modified picture name>.jpg



Note: after /b first goes the image, then the archive ^_^

Of course, you can do this also with your favourite file manager (DN, VC, FAR, EFC, TC etc.)



I copied the command again into the prompt so you can see it along with the result.
As you can see, the new secret image is viewable. Now you should remember only one thing: NEVER edit the newly created image. If you do, then say sayounara to your hidden data.





Now to get access to your files in that picture, you have just to open this picture with WinRar.
