INTRODUCTION
Lotto is a game played in the #Torrent-Invites channel of IRC to win prizes such as invites, bonuses, seedbox timeshares, VIP, etc. If you're not familiar with IRC, simply click on the IRC link toward the top center of the page to check it out. It's basically a live chat room, and a great way to meet and connect with other members and staff. Anyone can play lotto, but you need to make sure you meet the requirements to claim a prize if you win!



HOW TO PLAY
Playing the lotto could not be simpler. Just type lotto in the #Torrent-Invites channel of IRC and you will be given a combination of 6 numbers. If you get winning combinations, it will be announced. There is a random waiting period when you join #Torrent-Invites before you can play and in between plays. However, if you attempt to play before the waiting period is up, you will be notified as to how much longer you must wait before you may play again.



HOW TO WIN
Winning combinations are as follows:

0 - 0 - 0 - 0
If at least four numbers are all zeros , the lotto timers will reset for everyone, meaning anyone in #Torrent-Invites can immediately play lotto.

1 - 1 - 1 - 1
If at least four numbers are all ones, you are eligible to claim a prize from the list of invites and bonuses.
New Prize: Personal greeting from Hobbes when you join #Torrent-Invites on IRC! (PM Outdoors30 to claim this prize)
New Prizes: Custom responses from Hobbes via the following commands:
!isup, !fml, !google, !define, !slang, !tv, !imdb, chuck, 8ball <question>

1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1
If at least five numbers are all ones, you are eligible to receive seedbox time for one week.
(You may alternately choose any four-number prize listed above)

1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1
If all six numbers are ones, you will be eligible for VIP membership!
(You may alternately choose any four or five-number prize listed above)

NOTE: Winning numbers to not have to appear in a specific order (1 - 2 - 1 - 5 - 1 - 1) = Four Ones!



ODDS
The odds on most numbers fluctuate between 1 in 2, to 1 in 10.
Each of the six numbers have odds that you personally control as follows:

First Number - WINS: starting odds are 1 in 2
Each time you win the odds worsen and do not max out.

Second Number - PLAYS: starting odds are 1 in 10
Every 62 lotto plays you have improves your odds until they max out at 1 in 2.

Third Number - PLAYS: starting odds are 1 in 10
This alternates with the rules of the second number. After you have 62 plays on the second number 62 plays will be added to the third number improving your odds until they max out at 1 in 2.
NOTE: At 1000 plays, your odds on both numbers will be 1 in 2!

Fourth Number - USERS: starting odds variable
Odds are based the number of users in #Torrent-Invites at the time you play lotto.
If there are less 50 users, odds will be 1 in 10. If there are more than 100 users, odds will be 1 in 2.
Everything in between is calculated down to the specific number of users.

Fifth Number - CLAIMS: starting odds are 1 in 10
When someone claims a prize that you donated, your odds are improved until they max out at 1 in 2.
NOTE: While actively donating a seedbox to the lotto, your claims odds are set to 1 in 2!

Sixth Number - POWERBALL: starting odds are 1 in 10
The odds for the powerball CAN be adjusted (both up and down), there are several ways it can be adjusted!



COMMANDS
Lotto - Type lotto to play!
Lottostats - Displays your personal and global statistics on PLAYS, WINS, and CLAIMS
Lottoodds - Displays your personal odds on each "ball" as well as your odds to hit 4, 5, and 6 ones (Thanks EnderWiggin!)
Lottowins - Displays the list of winners (donors should check this list before handing out prizes!)
Addclaims - If someone claims one of your prizes, type in this command to add a claim to your file and adjust your claims odds accordingly (if you are donating a seedbox, VIP membership, or any prize other than invites or bonuses, you need to let me know so that I can manually adjust your claims to 1 in 2, thanks!)
NOTE: Anyone caught abusing this command will be permanently banned from the game, and from the channel as well, per JustJenna!



REQUIREMENTS FOR CLAIMING PRIZES
Bonuses / Invites: 10% and 1 igiver
Seedbox: 33% and 3 igiver
VIP: 55% and 5 igiver
Your name must still be on the LOTTOWINS list - you cannot hold onto wins indefinitely! (this typically lasts 1 - 2 weeks)
Screenshots are no longer required to claim a prize as you can refer to the lottowins command. You simply need to make a post stating that you've won and whose prize you'd like to claim! Prizes may no longer be given away!
NOTE: Donors may have their own specific requirements for their prizes.

MINI GAMES
There are games built into the lotto that you may initiate by playing lotto. Some are automatic and happen without your consent, and others you may choose whether or not to participate. Instructions are given when games are initiated.

CHANCE - Similar to a chance card in Monopoly, except you get to choose whether or not to use it. Something good or bad may happen you to, to someone else, or to everyone. You are given 60 seconds to decide, so use it or lose it!

LOTTO BOMB - The game plays in rounds where users pass the bomb around to each other and the user who has the bomb when the timer goes off loses 5 plays from their stats and is eliminated from the game. The last person standing collects all the plays that the losers lost. For instance, if 11 people played including you and you won, 50 plays would be added to your stats!

CHEATING
Those caught playing with multiple nicks, running timers, scripts, or otherwise playing unfair and abusing the intention of the game will be banned from the game, and from the channel as well, per JustJenna. Play nice!



SUMMARY
Lotto was an idea I came up with as a competition to give away an invite to BitMe and as a way to ramp up activity on #Torrent-Invites. It has since turned into a regular form of entertainment for several members and I am grateful to everyone who has supported it and participated. UPDATES
07-06-2011
Raffle has been implemented. This is for one week of seedbox time. A winner will be chosen at random every Saturday starting July 16th. The drawings will run indefinitely. You get one free raffle draw per day (24 hours to be exact, more if I reset timers or reboot) by typing RAFFLE, and may choose to trade 10 of your lotto plays (from your accumulated lotto plays stats) instead of playing lotto when your lotto timer has expired, by typing RAFFLE TRADE (two words).

I can hardly claim any credit, since you did all the hard work. In case anyone doesn't know how much time this took, it took countless hours of coding, debugging and testing to bring you the polished product you see today. Outdoors30 did not cut corners and even when I told him something was going to be painful to code, he rolled up his sleeves and got it done.

So the real person you should be thanking is Outdoors. Please give him a round of applause when you see him.
