Default Im looking for a new author

I am a vivid reader and well, ive now read all of the books written by some of my favorite authors including John Grisham, Michael Connelly Robert Ludlum...The list goes on.
My question for you is what other good authors would you recommend. I love reading mysteries, and even into the law side of things like with Michael Connelly's books about police or lawyers all I really ask is for a good action/mystery for me to start reading.

Im thinking of starting some of the works of Clive Cussler if anyone has heard of him. If so are there any great books you would recommend from him?

    Thanks in advance
    The Lone Wolf.

Just finished reading some books by Raymond Chandler, a 50s mystery writer. 'The Big Sleep' and 'Farewell, My Lovely' are the ones I read and I absolutely LOVED them!!! The way Chandler describes scenes and characters is remarkably engrossing and is definitely worthy of a read.

I've probably read a dozen Clive Cussler books, they were all great! The main character was Dirk Pitt, I would look for one of those. They are pretty creative and very interesting.

Another author is Tom Clancy. He writes really interesting books as well, they are based on things that could almost really happen! Stuff that involves CIA and espionage, etc..

Frinky thanks, I will be sure to watch out for Raymond Chandler, and canadianguy, I have no idea how I forgot to mention Tom Clansy. I love his books, and even his games (ghost recon) are really fun

This is a bit weird, but if you like mysteries, I'm going to recommend a series of mysteries I've never read.

Try the Jackson Brodie books by Kate Atkinson (Case Histories is the first): I've not read them (not a fan of mysteries, to be honest) but I've read her other books and loved them. So if her mysteries are as good as her other books, you're on a winner.

i got into a not well known author Jack DuBral. his philip mercer series is very entertaining. he has actually written a few books with Clive Cussler. their style is not high art, but it is damn fun.

I know this is old but House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski is very good.

One book I highly recommend is Looking for JJ by Anne Cassidy. It's a heartbreaking book but really makes you think.

Here are a few excellent crime books you might consider: 'Cell 8' by Roslund & Hellstrom; 'Deeper Than The Dead' by Tami Hoag; 'No Time For Goodbye' by Linwood Barclay

I've heard The Commissario Brunetti novels by Donna Leon are pretty fun (I haven't ready them myself, but some of my friends are really into them)...
