    Default Top 5 Books/Series

If I don't see one of these I generally try to start one on forums I join. I'm a huge fan of reading and love to get new suggestions and I find that a topic like this offers a lot of new titles to people that enjoy reading. Basically list your top 5(or more if you want) books or series. Try to list what genre the book is as well. Anyways, I'll get us started off...

    1. A Song of Ice and Fire(series - fantasy) - George R. R. Martin
    2. Mistborn(series - fantasy) - Brandon Sanderson
    3. Wheel of Time(series - fantasy) - Robert Jordan/Brandon Sanderson now that Robert Jordan has passed away; RIP
    4. Sword of Truth(series - fantasy) - Terry Goodkind
    5. The Windup Girl(sci-fi) - Paolo Bacigalupi

I look forward to reading some new books!

!) High Rise - JG Ballard
    2) The Dharma Bums - Jack Kerouac
    3) The Corrections - Jonathan Franzen
    4) Middlesex - Jeffrey Eugenides
    5) The Crow Road - Iain Banks

I'm not sure what genre you would put them in - literary perhaps?

I could have filled a top five with just JG Ballard's books as I think he seemed to analyse modern life amazingly accurately. The other books listed are just some others that I have read and enjoyed more than once.

I think I will have to check out High Rise. I just read a review for it and it seems pretty interesting!

I would have to go with the Bourne series by Robert Ludlum ie; the Bourne identity, supremacy, ultimatum as my first choice and also Jackie Collin's series of books surrounding the Santangelo family ie; Chances, Lucky, lady boss, Vendetta, dangerous kiss among many others

only the shadow knows the evil in the heart of men
