Default Great science fiction (sci-fi) books ?

I'm on a sci-fi roll right now, got into Philip K. Dick recently, and am starting off with his short stories first before I delve deep into his novels.

Who else, or WHAT sci-fi books would you recommend that are really really good? Maybe won some awards etc. Or were really good at predicting the future back THEN.

There are so many great science fiction authors that it's hard to know where to begin! Here are a few essential (IMO) recommendations to get you started.

    Early SF

Isaac Asimov - The Foundation Trilogy
Ray Bradbury - The Martian Chronicles
Robert Heinlein - The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress
Arthur C. Clarke - Rendezvous with Rama, Childhood's End
Fritz Leiber - The Change War
Kurt Vonnegut - The Sirens of Titan (this one has a lot of social satire--you might especially like it if you like PKD)
    Frank Herbert - Dune
    Frederik Pohl - Gateway

    Modern SF
    Neal Stephenson - Snow Crash
    Charles Stross - Accelerando
    Robert Charles Wilson - Spin
Hannu Rajaniemi - The Quantum Thief
John Scalzi - Old Man's War
Hope you enjoy some of these! Does anyone else have some good ones to add? I'm always looking for recommendations too.

I looove Samuel Delany... and William Gibson is really cool too. Very weird sci-fi, not Start Trek-ish at all :)
