    Default 64bit browser/flash (Windows+Linux+Mac)

Improving browser and flash speed on 64bit machines.

    IMPORTANT:

You will need a x64 bit operating system and processor.

Most of you probably know that there are 64bit versions for browsers and that they will not work with 32bit flash plugins but did you know that there is a 64bit version of flash in beta? And it is stable, I have yet to run into any issues and have been using it for months!

I am sure many of you are using 64bit machines and operating systems, why not get the most out of them?

I will provide links for the x64 bit browsers and flash below:

    Flash:
Download Flash Player "Square" Beta Preview Release - Adobe Labs

    Internet Explorer 8:

Internet Explorer 8 should come with both 64bit and 32 bit installs already just do a search for the program and run the 64bit version.

    (Firefox pre beta) Minefield:

    Index of /pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk

When wanting to download minefield just download one that has a name like "firefox-4.0b8pre.en-US.win64.x86 64.installer.exe" the installation will be identical to other versions of firefox.

I didn't see any other 64bit version browsers supporting windows, I recommend you stick with 32bit flash or change browsers unless I missed something.

Recommended Add-ons that work with Minefield

    Greasemonkey: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir.../greasemonkey/

    SkipScreen: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...ible-rapidsha/

    Stylish: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/

    Adblock Plus: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir.../adblock-plus/

Note: after beta 10 was released almost every Add-on works with Minefield (apart from themes) I don't know how useful this will be.

If you have any questions just ask me in here or by PM ill try and reply ASAP.

    Well, that works in Windows.

To Ubuntu, when I used the x64 version, I used it to have flash working properly in Firefox:

    sudo apt-get remove flashplugin-installer
    sudo wget -c http://download.macromedia.com/pub/l...6_64.so.tar.gz
    sudo tar xzf libflashplayer-10.0.42.34.linux-x86_64.so.tar.gz
    mkdir -p .mozilla/plugins
    sudo mv libflashplayer.so .mozilla/plugins/

Hope it works with you too.

Sorry about that, I didn't get to test it on Debian distros but since there was a Linux version of both Firefox/minefield and flash square I assumed it would work
