I've been looking for decent bandwidth meters all over the place. On linux there is vnstat on windows... du meter? bitmeter? Bandwidth meter?
I came upon this Codebox Software - BitMeter OS
It's quite unique that I can do global stats from multiple servers. I can't get it to work in redhat flavored os' (centos, redhat, fedora). It works fine on debian distros and on windows. When I say global stats it lets you combine all the numbers in to one huge database!
Here are the command lines url Codebox Software - BitMeter OS - bmclient manual
If you need an example I have one of my servers monitoring bandwidth off several machines

That's what it looks like. Go to preferences and customize everything that you want! It remembers it. Colors and all. If the graph is hard to read scale it. Which you'll see the scale buttons located to the right of the bandwidth chart. Keep pressing up till it's scaled properly. enjoy this fine piece of software.
