Thread: How to add a VHOST on Austirc.net

First of all 2 questions:

1) What is a "vhost" ?
2) What is Austirc.net ?


1) a Vhost is (with my own words) a fake address that will hide your real Ip address in IRC. Austirc has a few, nice and interesting ones.

2) Austirc.net is the irc server that we connect to reach the IRC.

Now that we have these 2 questions covered, we`ll move on:


Step one: For Beginners !!!

Follow my FIRST tutorial, which will be: How to join us on IRC
Its in my signature. If you have some IRC skills and you know what mIRC is and you know how to connect, these are the basics commands:

1) /s irc.austirc.net -> hit Enter
2) /nick YourNickAsOnSiteHere -> hit Enter
3) /msg nickserv register YourPasswordHere YourEmailHere -> hit Enter
4) the command that you`ll need from now on as registered member will be
/msg NickServ IDENTIFY YourPasswordHere





For advanced users, you won`t need Step 1

Step 2: In IRC now: /msg HostServ on

When I visit this link, I get:

404 - No Such Resource
File not found.

The site`s down at the moment, but you can try this now:

To register your nick:

/msg nickserv register password-here email-here <-- email must be real.


To add a v-host:

/msg hostserv request vhost-here

and after the v-host was allowed type:

/msg hostserv on


Need more help about this look for me or any available staff in #tihelp

else what u can do is :
step 1. /msg hostserv request <your-vhost-goes-here> press ENTER
step 2. Some operator/"Cereal" will activate it for you.
step 3. after its activated, type : /msg hostserv on press ENTER(is required only once).

Veritas, do you have to run this command each time or is this a one time deal?
