I learned this from somebody who shall be kept anonymous over on a private tracker that may not be named only referred to by using two asterix's ** like that.
OK This is how to limit the amount of RAM Firefox can use, its really simple and it keeps Firefox from being the resource hog it loves to be.
1. In the address bar type: about:config
2. In the "Filter" field type: browser.cache
3. Select the "browser.cache.disk.capacity"
4. Double click to change the value, it is default set to 50000, so you can change it to whatever you would like I recommend 15000, this reduces Firefox's RAM usage by slightly over 1/3rd and Firefox runs exactly the same but my multi-tasking is now less affected by Firefox's presence.
Well that's it enjoy.
Wait, what's that you said, I promised you a treat too, well OK then here ya go.
I also learned this from that same un-nameable place, its another trick to use in Firefox its a time saver, a mouse shortcut, simply place your cursor over a link and middle click (click the scroller) to open in a new tab.
Well have fun and if you want to get "biblical" firefox type about:mozilla in the address bar.
Here is 2 java tricks, I tried to paste them here but they don't work pasting them here so you can just try and copy and paste them from this "Site Link" Ok thats all for now.
