    Default Blocking google bots from your webserver..My temp fix

    This is my temporary fix to stop google from indexing my sites by ip per site:
    Please if someone knows a better way please post and I will move your post into the thread starting post and give you your credit for being smarter than me.




    • Start by logging in to your servers cpanel


    • Click on the ip deny manager




    • Then enter the value in the image below




    ......and your done.


    a very simple thing you can do to ensure your security. Tho it is a simple fix..I was not aware for almost 8 months of having a server that anything in my htdocs folder was under a watchful eye as long as bots and crawlers we're allowed access. I only found out because i was being exploited and had to figure a way to stop a whole range as I was having problems in vBulletin doing so. This was my solution...stop the traffic at the first stop....server access.

    I do use that but still see google bots and slurp accessing....i use robot.txt on a local machine that serves iphone streaming vid, but on my servers for some reason I can still see their user agent connecting......why if I have that txt on the server ........any thoughts ethicks
