there was something in linux called gmailFS that was really cool that would let you mount gmail as a drive. Unfortunately libGmail's death made it stop.

This is very cool to have in windows though - props!

Damnation, next time you should hit the 'thank you' button. For me this is just spamming.. You can't hit the 'thank you' because you're a 10%, then you wait..
Unless you have something usefull to say ofcourse!! Or share a bit of your personnal experience with it..

ps: grrr.. I get so annoyed and by these posts.

There is a free service by Microsoft that allows you to upload up till 25 GB of stuff linking everything to your Live ID. With this, you have no need to install any software on your PC and can access it from everywhere .

I believe that you're probably better off just sending yourself an email, with the file attached, so that you *can* access it anywhere, without any add-on or application. Then you wouldn't be violating any TOS.

Any chance of getting some instructions to do this on a macintosh? Otherwise, great tutorial. I'll use it on my second operating system. XD

do u guys really still do this? it was good back in the days when gmail was 2gb and max floppy disks were only 1.44MB and 512 MB usbs costed £25/$30 and u needed to carry loads of files etc and i guess its still good for using as an online backup storage....but this is only 7GB we're talking about...takes ages!

surely it would actually be easier and faster to just buy and carry around a 8-16gb usb (they're so cheap these days!!!! and so small as well to just stick in ur bag!)

its always such a pain to transfer stuff between online storage and pc hdd etc....but thats just my preference

USB storage does not protect against natural disaster or fire. You need other location storage for your most important files.
