    Default Advanced screen-shooting for firefox.

do u know that u can capture a picture of part of a webpage if u want to and and not all of it? eg. ratio proofs? now u can with the firefox addon:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1146

Screengrab! saves entire webpages as images.

It will capture what you can see in the window.
    1. the entire page,
    2. just a selection,
    3. a particular frame

Basically it saves webpages as images - either to a file, or to the clipboard. It can capture any Java or Flash embedded in a page, but to do this it requires Java to be installed in the browser.

It's sort of a shame windows doesn't implement a better screenshot process. On a mac it's a simple press of command+shift+3 or 4 to take screens, with 3 you can select an area you want to capture, etc.

I've been a windows guy for 20 years and I'm just recently discovering some of the cooler aspects of OSX.

I've always just used alt+printscrn, then toss it into paint, draw a box, ctrl+x to cut what I wanted, then ctrl+n for a new file, and paste it with ctrl+p. Then if something needs to be blacked out, you can do it right there on the fly.

Looks like a nice utility, but firefox has gotten bloated enough for my taste.

'a windows guy' for 20 years and you never learned how to press alt and printscreen? You sound more like a general mac fanboy retard.

Same thing I do... Paste it to paint and crop what I need... The new windows 7 snipping tool is cool though.

Pretty useful info, though not so much for ratio proofs since it's much easier to use Alt+Printscreen. Might be useful for when people ask for search results with their names though, since the layout on some sites just make it impossible to fit everything on-screen.

This is probably more useful for people who want to do reviews and post images of the full browser window, which might be too big to fit into an alt+printscreen. I know I've been thinking about doing so and was thinking I should figure out how to do that.

I use GIMP instead of Paint FWIW. It's lightweight and has more options for saving files and stuff. I'm also just more used to the cropping tool, so it actually takes me less time to use GIMP than paint.

Really? I find GIMP to be a bit slow to load. Paint opens by default with a blank area. To each their own. I use GIMP anytime I need to anything other than hack a screenshot apart though, so I see what you are saying about the nice cropping tool.
