How to reduce lag while gaming/etc.|

(I'm afraid this only works with wireless connections, and with XP or Vista computers.)
XP -
Step 1: Open Run. To do this, go to Start → Run...
Step 2: Type in, services.msc , then press OK.
Step 3: Scroll all the way down the list, until you find, Windows Zero Configuration.
Step 4: Right-click, or double click it, and press Properties.
Step 5: Change the, Startup type, to "Disabled". Press Apply, then OK, and your done. :D
Optional: If you would like to test your pingtime, open Run again, and type in, cmd, then type in, ping -t , then type www.google.ca or www.google.com, depending on the location but otherwise try both, then press enter, and let it work it's magic. ;D

After about 10-20 lines through or whenever you feel like it, press Ctrl + C, to stop, and give you the information of the entire scan. That's your new ping. :3

Vista -
Vista does not use Windows Zero Configuration, so it's a bit harder, but luckily, here's a clever little program that will automatically change it for you. ;D
Vista Anti-Lag
If you think it's a virus, you don't have to download it. I can't open my virus scanner on this computer, so I can't post the virus scan results, but if anyone else wants to, then feel free. :3

Now on most computers, this will work. You may see a difference from before and after, especially if your a hardcore gamer. If it doesn't work for you, then I'm sorry, but I'll see if there's another way for it to work. If your ping for some reason is faster with the Windows Zero on Automatic/Enabled rather than Disabled, (which would be odd), then by all means change it back. It depends on the type and quality of your connection and what network card you use. Oh and remember, this only works on XP/Vista with a wireless connection.

I hope that helps some of you! ^_^
