Default How to download from file-hosting sites without waiting

I'm sure a lot of guys know this, but I know it changed my world when I discovered it years ago

If you want to download two files or more from a file-hosting site, and you don't have a premium user, you'll have to wait a decent time in between the downloads. To disable the waiting time, after you've finished downloading the first file, do this:

    start
    run
    cmd
    ipconfig /release
[wait a little, some lines should appear]
    ipconfig /renew
    [wait again]
Close the cmd window and reconnect! You now have a new IP address and the hosting site can't tell whether you've downloaded a file recently or not.

    Enjoy.

    p.s.
If it helped you in a way I'd be happy to get a rep! :001_smile:

This depends on your isp / connection type.
If i do this on my box, all i get is a new local ip. But you need a knew WAN ip.
E.g. if you're behind a router, just do a reconnect (at the router) and you should get a new ip.

Yep, i'm not behind a router and have never been, so I didn't know you had to do different stuff if you're behind one.

This will not work for most people, because you need a dynamic IP and they are getting less popular as time goes. If your IP address does not change regularly, then this will not work.

A great website that i use that has support for file hosting sites like rapidshare, megaupload, etc is rapid8.com. You will never have to worry about time waiting or messing with any settings.

yea I think most ISPs give u the same IP Again but regardless u put in the topic that this would let me download without waiting, and all this would let me do is download multiple files. I could already download multiple files by using a proxy :p u still have to wait for every file (60, 59, 58, 57, BOOM!)

I have a "dynamic" ip from my ISP, and even if I unplug the modem for 8 hours, I still get the same one back. I think mine has been the same for nearly two years now. Release/Renew doesn't do anything either.

That being said, for the more advanced users, if you have greasemonkey for firefox, there are scripts for some sites that allow you to skip the wait times. You can search for them on userscripts.org, not all of them work and sometimes they only work for a little while. I gave up but I don't use the free downloaders often enough to keep up.

SkipScreen is a free Firefox add-on that skips the clicking and waiting on sites like RapidShare, Megaupload, Mediafire, zShare, and more!
    Never download music without it.

SkipScreen - a Megaupload, Mediafire, and Rapidshare Plugin for Firefox. Like a free premium account!
