1.- WOT
It blocks websites suspicious of having malicious content (when you tries to enter in the website a splash screen appears warning you) it has prevented me from downloading a bunch of viruses and in worst case scenario losing all and having to reinstall the OS because of viruses
Alternatives: Avast Webrep, Mcafee site advisor [But WOT is better and much bigger than the others]
Advise: Combine with Avast if you are using Windows.
Edit: Well...due to the increasing number of Mac viruses (they exist!) you may install it
2.- AdblockPlus
You may all know it already, if not, install and say goodbye to all adds, and spam screens bothering you and spoiling your surfing activity.
Although fine for some websites, disable in this forum to support this community
Note: It is available for Chrome users too
3.- LastPass
Bored of having to introduce your username and password every time you visit the same websites?
This addon records your Username and key, and stores them on the cloud, you can select to introduce them automatically, to select multiple users, very user-friendly.
Alternatives Dont worry to have your keys stored in the cloud, you can store in your computer with another addon called keepassX (Although Lastpass is completely Trustworthy).
Although being trustworthy, the author is not responsible if you use it on your bank website
Note: You can even export your lastpass keys to Keepass using the script on this web (use google translate to follow the steps: http://blog.jam.net.ve/2010/09/14/ex...ss-a-keepassx/)
4. Bugmenot
If an user has created an account in a website an upload its username and key to http://www.bugmenot.com you can have access to the website with his "donated" account (saves a loooooooooot of time when you dont plan to visit a website any more)
Note to the mods: I swear I havent used it on torrent-invites.com
5. Retailmenot (Thanks twb for the suggestion!)
Allow you to save $/€ by using coupon codes. click the tag in firefox and opens new tab with coupons/codes you can use to get discounts.
Pretty useful this days....:S
6.- Flashgot
It downloads the links on a website in the way you want (all, a selection...) so you dont have to be clicking one by one, you can select all at once saving a lot of time, works wonderful if combine it with jdownloader
7.- Greasemonkey
Crucial to any geek who want to personalize their browsing activity.
You can create your own scripts (or search for them in google/yahoo) and load them into Greasemonkey and help you save time or make your life more comfortable.
8.- Converter
If you want to change currencies for buying something abroad, and you dont want to be visiting www.xe.com every time you see something interesting download this.
You can see the conversion just selecting the price and doing a right-click.
*9.-The camelizer
Based on the web camelcamelcamel.com with this addon you can watch in a graphic on the website of the article inside amazon (.com, .uk, .ca....whatever) the prices your desired article has had through the time, and through the website of the product it can mail (or tweet) you when it reach the price you want to pay for it in amazon.
More of getting good prices: I discovered a web called HotUKDeals - Deals, Discounts & Voucher Codes (it works for the us market too), you can see the BEST (the hottest, they had a termometer lol) bargain in the moment they appear (also limited bargains), when the other users see one of them they can upload and tell you to buy! (very user-friendly)
*10 Mafiaafire Redirector (link on the title)
If the US court has blocked a website suspicious of hosting links (e.g. rojadirecta.com for viewing matches online) this addon redirects you when you visit the banned link to the mirror (e.g. rojadirecta.com --> rojadirecta.es). It saves time.
Good to have this around
*11 InstantFox (Thanks Extreme23 for the suggestion)
It allows you to create shortcuts in order to save time . I.e "i cats" search on google images cats , "m new york" search on google maps new york.
You can create your own
DONT DOWNLOAD ANY ADDON YOU SEE ON THE WEB!!
On average, each add-on you install adds about 10% to Firefox start-up time. This is a link for you to see how much resources a lot of famous addons consume https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/performance/
(Im learning English, so if you find a mistake, please, let me know)
