Thread: Disable RAID of OVH EG bestof dedi server?

Hi,
I bought a 09 ovh eg bestof dedi server?
It came with raid 1 default Debian 5
The available HD Is 750g(750gx2 raid 1)
Any easy way to DISABLE RAID 1 without reinstalling OS?
I need 1500g for seeing large archives.

If that's a Hardware based RAID 1, you can disable it from the BIOS. I'm not sure how to remove software raid though.

Physically pull the drive? Add another drive to the adapter and not put it in a channel in the raid array.

It really depends on how they set it up. HW raid? SW raid? Motherboard raid? Ect.

Do you want to transform it to a RAID0 or just disable the RAID1 and use two separate partitions?
I think OVH uses a software raid with mdadm, where both should be possible.

I wann use 1500G with hard disks 750Gx2.

I wanna find out hwo to disable raid1 to get 1500G

does it work to re-install OS through OVH manager ?

I had the same exact issue and emailed OVH.
