what's so hard about tversity? the only thing you need to do is add the folders where your media is and it transcode's it on the fly. converting every single file will take way longer than streaming it. the only problem is that your streaming hd so its probably going to lag so there are settings which can change the quality based on the connection.

I don't have to convert every single file. It is mainly .wmv that I am having trouble with.

When I used TVersity I added the folders and when I went to play the files my ps3 didn't even recognize TVersity as a media server.

I am not saying it couldn't have been operator error but I couldn't figure it out.

    Try MKV2VOB
    mkv2vob 2.4.7 - VideoHelp.com Downloads
i'm using it and it's very good stuff
1- open the program select the file you want to convert then select the destination folder.

2- You will have a pop up box that ask if you want to enable automatic MPEG2, It is recommended that you click on YES.

3- a process will begin then, don't close it until it finished it work, then another one will pop up also don't close it, also a third one will open, don't close it ( Don't shoot, hehehe)

3- when it's finished a dialogue box will say : Remuxing Complete

you might say it will not running this file since it's large, well, it will run, trust me

give it a try and good luck

I had this problm early on also.
    Try Total Video Convertor.
Worked for all the files i had dedicated to the 360 (WMV) converts them to PS3 format. I think converting them is better so TVveristy or PS3 mediacenter doesnt lag. This program also lets you do Ipad and Cellphone videos.
