Default Help With ruTorrent & creating New Torrents

OK so as simply put as I can here's my problem:

I made a .torrent file & I want to upload it to a tracker I'm a member of using my seedbox.

I don't want to use uTorrent because doing so would require leaving it on and connected for a minimum of 72 hours & hogging too much bandwidth, making my home connection slower than cold molasses.

My problem is that the .torrent file I made is on my home computer hard drive, but not yet on my seedbox so it isn't showing as a file/folder when I choose the "Create New Torrent" option through ruTorrent.

Can I use FTP (Filezilla) to transfer the .torrent file to my seedbox & then seed/upload it - or is there some other way to solve this problem?

the files have to be on the seedbox though...are they? and then you would have to make a new torrent on the seedbox that points to said folder in seedbox

So you have the files on your seedbox and when you click create new torrent the files don't show so you can't select them to make the torrent?

I had this issue when I was using a seedbox from getaseedbox.com
Whenever I sent files to my seedbox through FTP the files wouldn't show up when I click create new torrent. My solution was to just enter the file name there manually (copy paste from FTP) and then proceed as usual. You will see the files hashing as usual.

A long time ago a creature born of dust brought light to the darkest corner of the universe. Over centuries he became a beacon of hope and a force for good. No evil could touch him; no darkness could sway him off his path. He helped those in need and guided them to fulfill their destiny. And, someday in the distant future when he is no longer need he will once again become dust, but until that day he is The Exalted.

I'm guessing you might have mistaken the use of 'Create New Torrent' function for something else.

Here's a breakdown of how it should work:
    1. Upload the data files from your PC to your seedbox's rtorrent download directory using FTP/SFTP/FTPS.
    2. Locate the data files using the 'Create Torrent...' function in rutorrent then click 'Create...' button (Tick private option if necessary).
    3. After creating the .torrent, you will be prompted to save it to you PC.
    4. Save the .torrent file.
    5. Upload the .torrent to your tracker.
    6. You then need to download the .torrent again from you tracker (only if it's private).
    7. Upload the .torrent file to your seedbox using the 'Add Torrent...' function in rutorrent (Click the 'Browse' button, locate the .torrent file, Click Open).
    8. Tick the 'Fast Resume' option. Click 'Add File' button.
    9. Your torrent should now start seeding.
