Thread: Question on ratios

I'm new here, and still getting up to speed on the different rules / guidelines, but I had a question about ratios / tracker membership.

I have never used private (or public) trackers up to now, so in order to do an Intro post, I would need to show my uTorrent stats.

On that basis, is there a fixed limit for what your ratio should be? I have seeded a great deal of stuff (over 300GB) and in particular a great deal of rare stuff (I tend to seed for as long as availability is less than 2) but my ratio is not that great (just over 0.5), which is really just a function of my upload speed being lower than my download speed (my connection is much faster at downloading than uploading).

Am I likely to get my Intro approved on that basis, or would that be something that could never be approved? I'm not asking for a guarantee of course, I just want to understand whether this would be an automatic rejection.

The issue is that because the volumes uploaded / downloaded are so large - it has taken them c. 2,000 hours to get to where they are now - to change the ratio would take a very, very long time (like a year, given that my client isn't running all of the time).

nah I don't think there is any rules regarding ratio..just be truthful about everything and I am sure you will get in..I am sure you will get a gr8 deal of help/hints about how to keep a good ratio after joining..

I'm a bit new here myself, but what I understand is, you won't ge denied for having a good or bad ratio when doing an introduction, but many members here require a good ratio proof before they hand out invites. You can obtain a demonoid invite easily enough and make a good ratio there.

- It's okay that you don't have any trackers. you will need to post a screenshot of your torrent client's statistics page. Post this as your ratio proof. See Ratio proof editing tutorial.

• Proofs must be full screen including your OS taskbar and system tray.
• Do NOT blank out anything else on your taskbar or your web browser, unless it contains private information i.e. Tracker usernames.

There are some aspects of ratio we use to determine repping in new members, but a low ratio is not one of them. We mainly want to see what kind of client you're using and if you can follow simple written instruction. This will also prepare you for when you apply for a Giveaway.

We won't decline your intro because you don't have any trackers, after all once you're in you won't have a problem getting a few.
