Default USB Flash drive expert needed!!! Please

Here's the situation, I've got two USB flash drive. using it in my desktop with no problem. Then suddenly when inserted in a notebook, it prompted something that it corrupted the flash drive so I tried the other flash disk but with the same result. After that, went back to desktop only to find out the two drives became unreadable. It is recognized by any computer (tried it at 5 units) but the thing is, it won't read. One prompt "please insert a disk into Removable Disk" the other "You need to format the disk in drive X:" and both of the USB cannot be formatted. Anyone who can help me out? Is it possible to recover the contents or at least save the USB?

Thanks in Advance to all that will lend a hand

it depends on the type of damage done to your USB.. You can try any data recovery software, to try and recover some data, and if you have some very important thing in it, you can always spend some bucks and recover all the data by the experts.

Some notebooks don't have the right voltage in usb ports and they produce problems with USB flash drives like yours.

You can use some USB Flash Drive format software. If i were in your position i would first search in the site of your USB Flash manufacture to see if they provide any format tool for the flash drive.

If you can't find anything in the site you can always try these 2 USB Flash format utilities.

Fisrt one : HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool - v2.1.8 Download - EXTREME Overclocking
Second : Martik Panosian's Blog: Martik USB Disk Formatter 1.1 [Updated!]

If this doesn't fix your problem PM me to send you a low level format utility with e-mail.

If possible, try changing the drive letter and see if it works. If not, maybe they reached their lifespan.

Doesn't work, I'm using Transcend 2G & 8G. It prompt " there's no media in the specified drive" and the other one " device media is write protected". Also tried several data recovery software with no success.
    Any more suggestions?

I would have to agree with this. It may be a failure in the driver.

I mentioned in my post that I went back to my desktop to try it and only to find out that it's also not working
