Default Feralhosting - rtorrent/rutorrent, plugins, autodownload and monitoring local folder

    Hi guys,

Today I got feralhosting's power slot and I'm trying to install some plugins for the rtorrent, set up an rss feed and make the box to autodownload the torrents as soon as they are uploaded.

First of all I'm facing problems with the installation of the plugins. I read feral's faq and it says that i have to extract the plugin's tar into rtorrent/plugins but i cannot find this directory (it might be a hidden folder). ---SOLVED---

    Next one..
I've tried to add an rss feed for freshon in order to use rtorrent's rss manager but it isn't working. So I thought to monitor with cuteftp the local folder where the .torrent are saved with the rtorrent/watch. Is this right or do i have to do something else??? --- I think this one is working results in the morning---

Oh I forgot another thing. I'm also facing problems with the vpn. My system is running win xp and in the connection i get APAPI erros/failed and my web sessions aren't encrypted when the connection is established

What should i do in order to make these things work ???

For your first question, don't you mean install a plugin to ruTorrent except of rTorrent? Because in my case I install plugins to directory ruTorrent/plugins. I don't use any plugins for rTorrent but many for ruTorrent.

You can create directory plugins inside the ruTorrent directory. I don't know your directory tree but in my case I have some dirs like conf, css, share and plugins dir is included too.

Well my directory tree is : /home/"USERNAME"/private/rtorrent

and there isn't a subfolder with the plugins. So i think that this folder is hidden or sth else.

EDIT : I found it I was looking in the wrong place !!!

Well about PluginRSS - rutorrent I guess it will work like other plugins in dir. I jump over it when I install ruTorrent so I will try it and give a feedback.

EDIT: So it works! But I had to install rss 3.0 except of version 3.1. Don't know why but even other plugins of version 3.1 don't work for me.

for your vpn did you download Installation Package (Both 32-bit and 64-bit TAP driver included)?

did you ftp your key and client file from your feral box and put them into your openvpn config file on your comp?

As for waffles this was taken from their site

Until further notice, Waffles.FM banned OVH IP ranges from accessing the website, while still allowing access to the tracker. You will thus be able to use your Feral box to download/upload stuff from/to Waffles.FM, but you won't be able to access Waffles.FM website using Feral VPN / SSH tunnel or use Waffles.FM RSS feeds directly on your Feral box
there is a possible work around you just have to read the instructions on site if you like pm me and ill pm you the link to it

Yes i have read almost all FAQ.
About the vpn, I installed this package and copied my key and client file into the openvpn's config folder. But i get APAPI errors. Later I wil try to reinstall it...

About the possible workaround I tried it withn another tracker (freshon) to see if it works. However in the morning cuteftp managed to upload only the first of the three .torrent files that where available on the folder, because of errors. I'll make another test on Friday....

PS I have noticed that waffles rss feed is a bit slow (in the matter of announcing torrents), can i use an autodownload script for mirc in order to download the .torrent files (into a specific folder) as soon as the torrent is uploaded ???
