Thread: What is wrong with this picture?

Compare the green and red highlighted areas. Focus on the ratio of seeders/leechers and upload speed. The one in red is from torrentleech. It has only managed to upload ~600MB in over 16 hours of being connected. I am probably going to be banned from TL (just got warned) because this stupid torrent wont connect to more leechers or upload any faster. I never have this problem with any other tracker.

Is it just bad luck with seedboxes? I have 4 days to get the ratio of that stupid torrent to .4 or over, and I highly doubt that will happen.

Does the torrent show as seeding in your profile?
Was the waring directed at that torrent or your overall ratio?

Yeah, the file show up as seeding on the site. My account itself was warned (just joined this morning too).

Oh, you shouldnt have downloaded such a big file without buffering your account a little first :/

Is that a relatively new torrent or an older one?
It could be that those leechers are infact partial seeders and thats why your not uploading anything.

As long as you keep seeding the torrent you won't get banned for that but you will still need to get your overall ratio up. Try cross seeding some torrents.

The torrent was relatively new. Yeah I took a big gamble I realize that. There were a few things that led to the decision though.

1) I didn't know I would be called out the first day.. I thought I would have been given at least a COUPLE days to reseed the torrent before being warned
2) I tried going for something that wouldn't have a high dropoff rate
3) I looked for something with a very low seed/leecher ratio
4) Large movie packs (what I chose) are usually gold mines to seed, or at least on other trackers they are for me


I just didn't anticipate the extremely low leecher connectivity. I think I could have made the 4 day deadline with ease if it even went half my max upload speed, which every other torrent of it's kind I've ever gone after have done.


My main concern is, I don't want anything to happen to the guy that invited me. Would he get in trouble if I got banned for a bad ratio?

I think you usually wouldnt get called out the first day with small torrents. The size and your overall ratio is probably the issue.

Problem with movie packs though is that a lot of people select a few movies and dont download the whole torrent. So it ends up showing a high leecher count but they are actually just partial seeders.

With the 48 hour wait time you have on new torrents its going to be difficult to get your ratio up :(

I'm not sure what / if something happens to your inviter if you get banned for low ratio. Maybe someone else can answer that.

But dont give up just yet. Try cross seeding a few torrents. I guess you need around 18 GB upload in 4 days which should be doable.

Yeah, I thought about doing that but I feel like I might dig the hole even deeper if I get stuck with another dud torrent lol.. Plus I only have 1 slot available so I'd have to play russian roulette.

Shame they have absolutely no freeleech torrents. That would solve the problem immediately.

So I'd have to find two identical torrents and then seed it to TL? I imagine that would be hard since people rename everything. How would I go about telling uTorrent to change trackers?

Edit: I just found a torrent on TL that I already have seeding with another tracker (very popular file and very large size)... what now?
