Thread: Bitme Sign up failure

Hi mates,

I have this issue today when i was given an invite to Bitme. After filling the necessary fields, this message pops up.:

I have no knowledge about proxy server being used by my ISP. Just would like to ask if is it possible for me to shut down the internet-accessible web server on my part? Or is it true that this due to banned countries? Can I still be a member of Bitme? Hope somebody can lend a hand on this matter and guide me if possible.

Is your IP dynamic? Try another IP if it is dynamic. :)

Please check in your network setting proxy is enable or not if yes then disable it and then try to register it .. well search on google lots of tutorials you will find how to enable and disable proxy , some tutorials will help you .

Hope some tutorials will solve out your problem , and remember if your Ip is banned on bitme don't try to register again you will banned again .

Thanks for the tip mate, made the changes already. but one thing not clear to me is you mentioned not to register again if your ip is banned. How will i know if my IP is banned? sign up didn't succeed yet.

P.S.: Oh, you mean am i a previous banned member? If this is what you are referring to then the answer is no. I was never a member in that site and didn't know about it until i read about it in this site.

you need to find out if your isp is directing your internet communication through a proxy

there are some banned countries and isp ranges on Biteme but nothing mentioned as to specific locations

Thanks for replying, is there a way to find out? Can you guide me on how to do it? I did a research here and found a same problem of mine with Subkar. Thread here: BitME sign up problem

he was able to sign up in the end so i think it is not a banned country issue i guess. But i would like to try out your suggestion for add'l knowledge. Thanks very much

only way to find out is ring your isp and see

you may have to phone up and your service provider and find out if there directing your internet communications through a proxy in particular port 80 if they are you need to see if they can exclude your account from using the the proxy
