I want to get a seedbox because being in Australia my upload speed is terrible. I mainly only want to get it to boost my ratio on Waffles and IPTorrents so I don't have to worry about them for a while. I only want to get seedbox for one month, because that's all the time I would need I think.

I was thinking about getting a Xirvik Dedicated, but that comes to around AU$100, and that seemed a bit pricey, but I don't know. The Essential Xirik look alright, much cheaper at AU$55, but then again I'm not sure of what the differences are. I won't be using FTP with it.

    Suggestions?

    Iīm using a superseed.eu seedbox (100Mbit Shared / 150Gb / 30 Active Torrents / $25 / Germany) and iīm very happy with this.

The FTP isnīt too fast. But you will not use...
So maybe itīs a deal for you.

But stay alert on this issues:
    - Some Xirvik users have problems on Waffles (see the forum there for more info)
    - If you want to raise your ratio on Waffles , UPLOAD new releases/torrents. Itīs very hard to earn ratio there "only seeding" other releases... (But of course not impossible !)
    Thnx for Rellik and Forbidden

Not sure if you knew this or not, but there's different people giving away seedboxes for 24hours - 1 month at a time, right here in T-I. Give Seedboxes - Torrent Invites! Get your free private torrent tracker invites !

If that's not for you, custom seedbox has some slots open on their shared server, as of today: Plans - Custom Seedbox. (Australia based company)

ggshq.com is also good, and have slots open: ggshq

I have used the above two, they both are excellent shared servers and can vouch for them. If I were you, I would just stick with shared seedboxes since you're only going to have it for a month. It would be more cost effective, imo depending on how heavy your usage would be.

but if you still want a dedicated server, I would stick with xirvik and get there dedicated 2009 plans (they do have 3 left, so their website says): Xirvik Torrent
it's a little less cheaper than the other dedicated plans or possibly even go with their shared plans.

    Hopes this helps out! :)

Like Passarinho said, it is very hard to earn some buffer at Waffles just dling and seeding what is already there, the best way is to upload new stuff.
I don't think a seedbox will help you at Waffles in such a narrow time (at least it doesn't helped me at What) the best way is to seed everything you got forever, unless you spend your day at the site, snatching everything that you know will have many downloads ass soon as they are uped, but you can destroy your ratio trying this.
I recomend you to search for a seedbox that does not cap your speed after your traffic goes pass XTB and doesn't have a fixed number of torrents.

And why you wouldn't use the FTP????
If you have a crappy up-speed you don't have the luxury to choose what you seed (you wouldn't have even if your upload was good). You will never listen to some of your dls? So what? Keep seeding it forever, you will get some snatches from it eventually.

Well you don't necessarily need a dedicated. For one don't get Xirvik US based if you are planning on seeding on waffles, I had this happen to me and my box was blocked. Xirvik is still okay on waffles if you go with one of their power series I would reccommend. You'd still get a good ratio on IPT if you went with a shared box. Also it's not about speed on Waffles. On Waffles it's just what's popular and what's not. I've noticed the majority of torrents are under seeded and can be drastically slow. New electronic music always seems to get at least 3 seeders, dubstep in particular always gets 12 around.

Aside from all that, go read some seedbox reviews and pick out which you like best. I'm sure you won't need to dish out all that cash for just 1 month. You said you won't be needing ftp so a OVH reseller would be a good choice because people always complain about their ftp speeds but great internal peering for torrents.

Apart from Xirvik there are other places like ggshq or pulsedmedia. Passarinho mentioned superseed. ByteSized hosting people seem to be very happy with for it's cost and performance. I would just start in the seedbox review section here and see what fits your budget.

Wow heaps of quick replies:) I was looking for one that had no bandwidth cap, and I would only be downloading bigger sized torrents or ones that I wouldn't normally download, so I didn't think I would have a use for FTP. I have shared a feralhosting seedbox once and I found that quite good, and I might go with them. As for what you guys are saying about waffles, I have uploaded about 10 torrents that aren't on there yet in FLAC and MP3 (some Frank Zappa), and have gotten max 2 snatches, and the snatchers don't seed, so most of them died because my computer isn't always connectable for uploading.

That narrow it down a bit or what?
