Thread: Downloading Torrent Files at School

I have been trying to download a couple of movies from PTP, but my school won't allow me to download a torrent file. I'm using a seedbox, so that's not a problem, I just can't get the .torrent file itself. Does anyone know a way around this?

Most trackers have an option to download torrents as a txt file.That should work;)

And if you can't download use the utorrent protocol encryption as enabled.

I've tried downloading the .txt file, but I don't think PTP has that option. Also, my seedbox uses rutorrent. How can I do that?

You want to use your seedbox from your school PC?Because I can't understand what the problem is.

My seedbox works fine, but I can't upload a torrent via it's url, do I have to download the .torrent file to my computer, and then upload it to my seedbox. My school's network won't allow me to download the .torrent file, and I don't think PTP gives the option of download the file as a .txt or .zip.

Well then I guess you can't do anything about it.Maybe other people had your problem and ca help out.

I think PTP has an option for that in your profile settings or you could simply install the Cookies Plugin for ruTorrent. Here's a guide how it works: PluginCookies - rutorrent - Project Hosting on Google Code

It does have that option, thanks. I never notice before.

Damn I was gonna say that lol Btw, I can easily torrent on my college connection ;)
