Thread: A noob question (maybe not)

I was wondering how will I use a seedbox if one is given to me from the "give seedboxes" sub forum? I know a seedbox is like a server that downloads and uploads then I get the files from it so my ratio stays in tip top condition but how will I connect to a seedbox and use it?

Simply by connecting to it with your web browser. You just view a web interface from the box that typically looks just like your torrent client you use on your home computer. If you can use that, you can use a seedbox :)

As for obtaining the files from the box, usually you can either use an HTTP interface to click and download, or the typically more popular method, using FTP.

Hi Magex, im no expert with seedboxes but i will tell you what i know.

The user who gives you the seedbox will give you the URL to access the seedbox, he then will also provide you with a username and password. When you go to the URL a box will pop up forcing you to enter the username and password when you do you will be able to enter the seedbox. The seedbox will most likely look like utorrent and you just add torrents like you normally would from your computer via browsing.

Hey mate. Welcome to TI. First you would need the log in details! You will get a link to your seedbox and you log in through any internet program. Ex. Firefox. You will also get a username and password. After you get this done, you will have to choose what client you would like to use. I use Rutorrent. It looks pretty much like uTorrent. Then you just do the controls from that. Real Simple to get used to.

To download, you would have to download the torrent as a save file on your computer. Then you select Add File in your rutorrent client. Click and Save. Boom your downloading to your box. At awesome speeds.

To get the files off of this server, you would use CuteFTP or any other FTP program. Log in with same details. Click and download to your computer. Not much else. If you need help PM me! Thanks!
