Wow, a 5GB limit of data? That is ridiculous. How do they even expect students to be able to do the proper research and whatnot with that kind of cap? I'm also curious as to what the speed caps are set to as well if you know?

As far as an answer, I really don't have one other than maybe purchasing a box to do your downloading, and then connecting somewhere else (unsecure wireless access point, public wifi spot) and then just transferring the files from your seedbox to your computer that way. That way you're not necessarily doing any torrenting on an open access point, moreso just transferring files from one computer to another.

That is a very low limit, I wonder how there going to keep track of it, by IP or something else, either a seed box or maybe use a proxy to hide your ip.

I would recommend you using a seedbox just to survive...
because browsing websites can still make traffic.
5GB of traffic is a ridiculous amount.

You should also be advised that colleges frown upon the use of bittorrent. MPAA will go after the college and then they come after you. You will get a warning then they might terminate your internet privileges. You can try DC++. You will get insane speeds within the schools lan and since it is within the school's network, no one else sees it.

This is based on my own experience in college, find out what the policies are at the school you are attending. Good luck in school!

I guess it all depends on how they are tracking you. Maybe you have to sign in like a hotspot, or maybe its linked to your device's MAC address.

nmashettiwar, in that thread it has been explained that the tunneling is very risky for your college status (you may get banned if caught) and torrenting using college internet can make the college itself in chase of MPAA. Crap MPAA.

Better to use DC++ for suggestion. You'll get same or less content imo.
