I think that would depend on what OS your running, if it's a webgui, if so, which webgui. So we will need the details of the server before any help can be provided.

Be patient, MikeD will be here shortly, he's your best bet. He's a master at this stuff. Look out for him. :)

first you would definitely need root access, then u have to create separate user accounts, you would have to install rtorrent and a webgui, u might also need to install apache and what not.
It's a very complicated process thats not worth it for few days only.
Also i dont know how you would be able to get 2 separate IPs.
Basically what you are trying to do is what resellers do, they buy a dedicated server and create slots and sell each slot separately with a margin of profit.

I don't think that can be done, if what you mean by your own slot, by having your own separate space on the seed box with your own root access and login, that's what the seed box company does for it's user's. The easiest way would be for him to give you the webui info, Ip address and admin password.

I am assuming this is in regards to your request @ http://www.torrent-invites.com/reque...6-seedbox.html

Seedbox hosts do not allow users to share accounts which are not dedicated, although you might get away with using the same WebUI.

If the person who wants to give you a seedbox slot, the person needs to subscribe a dedicated server and have the root access. He needs to create a user account (slot) dedicated for you. A torrent application will also needed to install from there. Then you will have your own login info and you will be using the same server resources as the giver.

If that person only has a shared or semi-dedicated server subscription, he only has one slot to that server. And the only way for you to access it is to share the same account info (account id/password) and login on his behalf to use the torrent webgui.

    Hope this help.

Well I asked MikeD the exact thing awhile back here, and here is the exact thing he told me:
To create multiple rutorrent users with 3.0 u need to create another user on your server with a /home/ dir and have them run there own seperate rtorrent with there own seperate .rtorrent.rc file. U need to add the scgi mount on a different port in the rtorrent config file though. Like this >

    scgi_port = localhost:5001

Once u do that u then need to go to the /rutorrent/conf/users dir > /var/www/rutorrent/conf/users and make a dir for your other user. Then u need to copy the file at /var/www/rutorrent/conf/config.php to that dir u just created and make sure u edit this file to match the new scgi_port & mount /RPC3. Then u need to edit the lighttpd file and add a new mount point /RPC3. Finally make a password for the new user like u did above but leave out the [-c] as thats for creating the file so u would do it like this >

    htdigest /etc/lighttpd/.passwd 'Authenticated Users' new_user

Restart lighttpd and your finished. U would be able to reach the new rutorrent in your browser at the same address, but u need to specify the new user & password and it will forward to the right rutorrent. This can be compilcated especially if u never done it before or if u dont know Linux.
I hope that gives you an idea, but it would be best to talk to MikeD because he is amazing with this stuff.
    Retired and happy :)

Yep short & simple theres nothing u can do without root or sudo. If the giver has a shared server then i highly doubt he has either of the two. If he does somehow have root or sudo then i can easily walk him through creating a slot. It literally takes minutes to do and there is no extra dependencies/software to be installed.
