    Hey!

I was looking through all the guides etc to try to find something that would help me out with this, but i havent been able to find anything.

I know how to create the file in utorrent, but then the problems starts.

First i create the torrent on the seedbox. when i click "save" it promts me to save the file (and i can only save it on my local machine)

Then i fixed with all the information on the tracker site i wanna upload. (like with description/torrentfile/name etc.

And then i redownload and "save" the torrentfile to my local disc. And next step is to open it up in my seedbox.

The problem is that rtorrent wont "check" my disc if i have the file and its stuck at 0% (witch means it refuse to check for the files) and ofcourse i cant upload since i technically dont have the file at 100% or whatever.

Is there anyone that can point me in the right direction here?

let me try to help U since I have uploaded some stuff directly from a seedbox... I was using Utorrent, not rTorrent like U but I think it should be the same principle...

    1. I create the torrent file on a seedbox ( using the announce URL of a specific tracker ) and when it asks me where I want to save that torrent file, I save it on seedbox first, of course...

    2. I transfer torrent file which I have already created, from my seedbox to my personal computer using FTP program...

    3. I go to the upload page on a specific tracker, fulfill the blank fields with required informations, then I go to the field which says torrent file, I click the browse button, find that torrent file on my computer ( it's the same torrent files which I have already transfered from my seedbox ), I click on that torrent file and after that, the upload page is ready...

    4. on the bottom of the upload page there should be a button which says do it, upload it, finish it or similar --> click that button...

    5. after U have clicked on that button, your torrent file is not alive... U must click again on that torrent file @ that specific tracker & download it to your computer... now that torrent files has the needed information from that tracker...

    6. after all that, go to your seedbox page, click add a torrent, find the torrent file which U have downloaded from that tracker to your computer... yourseedbox will start to check the file which U have already had on your seedbox and when the checking ends, U'll become a seeder !

    cheers !

Shein, it sounds like you're doing everything right. I'd talk to the support staff for your box and tell them you're having problems hash checking.

How big is the torrent you're trying to upload? Depending on a lot of factors, big files can take quite a while to check, but not so long that it would remain at 0% for more than 5 minutes.

Wait a minute here, im confused. Why is rtorrent not asking u to save the torrent on your seedbox and only your local HDD? Creating a torrent in rtorrent is very simple and takes literally minutes. Of course the torrent will be stalled at 0% cause your server cannot check your local disk for files and theres nothing wrong with your hash checking.

There are a couple of options here u can do. First, continue to do what u are doing then upload the file to your seedbox using FTP then hash check or second, tell me what version of rtorrent u are using and also what rtorrent webui. Im guessing your using rutorrent so then u are more then likely using create torrent (star) plugin. If u give me this info i will get this straightened out for u and u will be able to create torrents directly on your seedbox without any other transfers.

First of all thanks to everyone.

Ofcourse now when i had got some advices and pointed in some direction my seedbox went down for the first time in 2 months.

Maybe there was a problem with the box today. As soon as i have it up and running again im gonna check out everything and see if it works.

MikeD: Sounds awesome, first i can say that when i tried to saave the torrent i created it ONLY prompted my local disc and not the seedbox. But as i said i will get back as soon im up and running again.

The files must be on the sever already, or he wouldn't be able to create the file through this webui, I think?. I don't know about other seedboxes, but when I create .torrent files through mine, it also only gives me the option to save the torrent file to my local HDD. I'm still leaning towards he's doing everything right, but something is wacky with the server, esp since it just went down.

So, Shein, to help us help you a little bit better, can you answer these two questions?

1: Are the files that the .torrent file points to (the actual files that you will be uploading to the other users, not the .torrent files itself) on the seedbox server?
2: Is it a shared server.

If it's a shared server, there's a good chance it's currently down because someone else was having the same problem, so they're doing some work on the box now.

The files that i wanted to upload was on the seedbox server. I also made the .torrent file from those files i wanted to upload.

And yes its a shared server, but i cant reach the owners as of yet.
