Default I need clarification on +Rep vs Thanks vs iGiver

Obviously, iGivers are given out when someone give you an invite. Iif I'm not mistaken iGivers count towards you +Rep count, is that correct? Also if I was to recieve a free siggy or avart from another member would I iGiver them or would a +Rep or Thanks be more in order?

+Reps and Thanks are where I get a bit confused. They seem to be interchangeable with the only difference being that for a +Rep you have to write a comment but with Thanks you don't. Or is there more to it that I'm missing?

Am I correct in my assumption that all of the three are counted as +1 count to your reputation?

If a member received an invite from you but did not send you an iGiver would it be with-in the rules to give them a -Rep or not?

Hope someone can clear up these questions for me. Thanks in advance.

Hi m8, maybe you should read this, it may be able to clarify your doubts http://www.torrent-invites.com/tutor...condensed.html, hope you find it useful, especially at the beginning where it explains those 3 aspects you are asking

Okay my basic sum of them:

Igiver: you MUST give when a person gives you an invite/seedbox ONLY. It is to keep track of the invites you've got and given because if you give invites other must fill out the igiver form.

Thanks: Adds ONLY 1 rep point to the person no matter what user class you are, that ofcourse doesn't apply to staff. So if i thanks you, you will only get 1 rep point.

+Rep: Is when you add to someone's reputation, though the only difference between it and thanks is that it can be more than one point. What it depends on is how much rep the person repping you has. So if i rep you, you will get 29 points and thats the equivalent of 29 thanks. Now not everyone has 29 rep power like me it depends on how much rep you have. Me for eg i have 1600 rep points and thats how i have 29 rep power. People with more green bars have higher rep those with less have less rep. You can view your rep power in the home page to the right of your avatar, above the reputation bars. How much rep you have can be found under user Control Panel at the bottom. It can also be show if you click on the scale (+rep button) that belongs to your post.

    Hope this helped.

That was much better than trying to piece together some of the other posts with that info spread out. That was a big help but it did leave one of my question unanswered...

If a member received an invite from you but did not send you an iGiver would it be with-in the rules to give them a -Rep or not?

The iGiver in the case you describe is mandatory. Assuming we are talking about a situation where an unreasonable amount of time has passed and your invitee has ignored attempts to bring the matter to his/her attention, I would think that the best course of action would be to contact a T-I staff member to correct the situation (credit the missing iGiver) and to otherwise deal with the other member. I would think that would be a more satisfactory method than simply registering your displeasure with a neg rep.

Rellik is right give it some time and allow the user to respond to you then bring the issue to the attention of a mod or higher

Well well well...Thanks is counted one to your reputation and you can you this option for everything in this forum when you were helped by a user.

Rep is given by every user but the amount of rep points depends of the rep power of every user. This is given for bigger contribution to the community.

Igiver can be also given by every member,it doesn't count to you rep and it is given to the inviter when you receive an invite in one of the giveaways. Also you can leave an Igiver to one of your invited members if he does a good job on the respective tracker.

If you have any more help please ask...

You may not neg rep nor neg igiver someone for neglecting to give you an iGiver. If they don't give you the required iGiver, contact a staff member.

When *are* we allowed to use -rep?

I find a lot of times that I'd realllly like to hit that button, but don't want to get in trouble for it - it almost feels as though there's an unofficial rule that -rep is only for moderator and higher use.

Need help? PM me and I'll find you the answer.

Here are a few reasons that neg rep should be given:

    -to a cheater
    -to a flamer
    -to a liar
    -to a scammer

Most of these people are given infractions and bans anyways, so lets expand it

    -blatantly disregarding the rules
-to someone who spams around continuously (do not go neg-rep happy!)
-to someone who insults or flames
    -to repeat offenders
