Thread: How to move up the ranks of private trackers.

Hello, I am pretty new to the world of private trackers. In fact I was just introduced to them a couple months back. Although I do understand basic torrenting, because I was using public torrent trackers, I'm having trouble building up a good ratio among my other torrent sites.



Right now I have an average download speed of around 20Mb/s but my upload speed ranges from 0.5Mb/s to 3Mb/s. A seedbox or an upgrade to my internet bandwidth is out of the question because I can't afford either. Because of this setback I need to seed for days before I download anything else.

What I really want is help getting a good ratio and moving up the ranks on different private trackers. My goal is to be able to obtain valuable invites and give them back to this community for helping me out. Currently I am a member of Demonoid, HD-Space, and Freshon.tv.

I don't know if these are the best private trackers but I am a beginner and you have to try somewhere. I would greatly appreciate the help. Becoming a member to this community is a blessing and I hope to become a valuable member to this website.

I would probably cross seed from public trackers. Basically, just download a file from a public tracker right after it is uploaded and then upload it at your private tracker (make sure it is the same file though). To upload it at the tracker, all you have to do is download the .torrent file from there and open it in your bittorent client. It will automatically check that the files you downloaded from the public tracker earlier are there and will begin seeding to the private tracker. Use this method until you get a nice buffer (5-10gb uploaded more than downloaded).

Then just jump on new torrents on your private trackers every night and soon you should be powering through the ranks :001_smile:

And btw, 3mbps is very good. If you can max it at that, just limit your download speed to ~2mbps and you shouldn't have to worry about downloading more than you've uploaded.

On my speedtest I get 3Mbs/s. When I am uploading with uTorrent I never get anymore than 300Kb/s when uploading. And the max that I've ever downloaded at on uTorrent I think was around 3Mb/s. Thank you for the advice Droid.

speedtest gives you bits per second, utorrent shows bytes per second.

Well as bobtate said it's 3mbps= 3/8Mbits~350KBps...

i just want to add some stuff:
1.seed for long but I know tvT got real fast seeders and that too atleast they got good download speed so they won't leech for longer..So make use of freeleech there download 720p which are freeleech and crossseed it to all other tracker you are on.

oh and join trackres like IpT,Tl I'm sure you gonna need them (also like them)..have 1 tracker for each of stuff you do:
Games: bitgamer
music: some new one don't join waffle or what right away.
movies and general : you already have just add ipT or/and TL
musicvid: silverseed

Oh IpT has freeleech torrents so you cab get your ratio up...

Also, if you're using uTorrent, configure your RSS feed to download new shows or movies automatically. This way you'll get on new torrents fast.

Thank you guys for all of this useful info. I'll try to get into some extra trackers. Like I said though, I'm very new to all of this so how do I program my RSS feed? I'm not sure how to use it. I'm sorry if I'm being an extreme noob right now.
