Is it a laptop, or desktop.
    What anti-virus do you use.
Do you have anything plugged into the USB?

Any info you think we could use, post it, it would make it alot easier.
no no no...there´s only 1 simple question.

    HOW BAD/OLD/BURNED/STONED YOUR PC IS?

your mouse (whatever Logitech) CAN NOT lag because of utorrent.

the internet may lag when you are downloading at your speed-limits but uploading doesn´t do anything. i´m uploading ALWAYS 80% of my upload max capability and there are no browsing problems.

mouse can´t lag in this case. your pc lags.

I'm currently using a Dell XPS M1730 laptop. This problem only occurs when I'm running utorrent.

I also think the problem is your PC, not the mouse, more dowloads means more access to hard disk wich slows down the computer, you would check how keyboard works when this happens and run any performance monitor utility to verify that the computer is going slow

Apps with elivated priority, such as Antivius and firewalls, when maxing the CPU can cause a jumpy mouse. uTorrent is more likely to affect the firewall than Antivirus, especially if you are connecting to a high number of peers and/or torrents at the same time. I would first try close your firewall for a few seconds while running utorrent and see if that changes anything.

Your laptop's specs are probably close to:

    Windows Vista Home Premium
    Intel Core 2 Extreme X7900 (2.8GHz/4MB L2/ 800MHz FSB)

Dual Nvidia GeForce 8700M-GT in SLI (256MB each)
Dual 200GB 7200RPM Hitachi drives in RAID 0 (striped data)
    2GB DDR2-667 RAM in dual-channel
Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN wireless
(I assume your mouse uses one of those bluetooth wireless USB dongle thingies?)

So I wouldn't expect the harddrives or CPU to be the cause. 'they say' win7 is better than Vista though :P.

Go to task manager while running utorrent and see how high your CPU usage gets when the mouse starts to get jumpy. If something is raping it, then go to 'Processes' tab and you should be able to figure out how to see what's using most of the CPU.

Let us know how you go.

Is your computer connected using wired or wireless.
Also what antivirus, firewall and other security software are you using?
As cuminagetcha said open task manager and have a look at the CPU usage of different processes when to mouse starts to lag.

If you don't mind, let us confirm things.

    1. Recreate your lagness with uTorrent
    2. Open up process manager, and take a screenshot.
    3. Post your screenshot here so we can see what's going on.

It wouldn't be very helpful if you just described your problem in 2 sentence, because this kind of problems don't happen to everyone.
