I really want to get into Voice-Over work; like the announcer for commercials and movie trailers. Just about everyone I meet tells me I have a good voice for it. Unfortunately, I really have no idea how to go about doing that. Last I heard, for about $600, I could cut a demo which might get passed around to others. That seems a bit too vague to me.
I figure in this day and age of the internet, someone might just be able to help me find an easier and/or cheaper alternative. Any thoughts?

can you do different voices and accents? this is very important.
buy a microphone, and record a voice over, make up a commercial, revoice over a exiting commercial or a cartoon.
voice over, is showbiz, just like any other business your not going to be randomly discovered
