Thread: Trouble with upload speed - please help!

hi guys im totaly lost and wondering if anyone could help me my problem-

ok im on a site and ive just downloaded a freeleach pack to help me out with my ratio being new wanna get a good start.so i download half of a 13gb file takes me about 1-1/5 hours so i start to seed back but my upload speed wont go higer than 1kb and i dont know why there are plenty of leaches connected to me but it just wont go any higher.on the tracker it says that it is off line/timed out but it was like that when i downloaded it so i dont think it had anything to do with that.mabe its because i have downloaded only half of it this would be the reason?..but i have done that so many times before and its never made a differance i realy am lost because this is the first time this has happened to me has any of you wonderfull people have any ideas id be most gratefull thanks bridskid

Are you connectable? Also, is your bandwidth being used up on other torrents or applications? If so, try stopping the other torrents and applications.

You can also try stopping the torrent, closing utorrent, and then restarting it. This helped fix a similar problem I had once.

jenna pretty much covered all of the possibilitys, also, if you have a bandwidth limit like me, they may have throttled your speeds because youve gone over, this has happened to me this month and my isp(those dicks!!!) have limited my speeds to 0.5 kb

i dont think this is the problem on all my other sites im uploading a 45kb its just this 1 site ok ive closed everything dow and just left this 1 running ive checked and im connectable too so ill see what happens thanks everyone

ok so i tried just leaving that 1 torrent on all night to seed and i did upload a bit but not a lot,so ive put all my torrents back on and there all seeding at good speeds so i carnt understand it luckely its a freeleech pack ive downloaded so im lucky there ill just leave it on seeding to see what happens hopefully it will get better

I think i know why, since you said it was a PACK and also freeleech, there are bound to be partial-seeders/leechers, meaning they only require certain parts of the files and only tick the files they wanted at the beginning when loading the torrent.

So that being said, they have finished downloading but still are registered as LEECHER. (You got to download the WHOLE pack to be registered as a seeder.)

So yea, maybe that's a reason why you can't upload at a favorable speed. Hope that helps.

other than what was suggested already im thinking maybe the files are being partial leeched meaning who ever is grabbing or is connected from you is only downloading certain files in the pack making the speeds seem slow as the file is well seeded is the only thing i can come up with lol

hey guys and thanks for all your help on this realy appreciate it,ive been reading up and i think the main problem is because i dont have a seed box,like now i have finishing downloading this full pack i have 13 peers leaching on to me and my upload speed has only been to 1kb tried all my other sites and everything uploads nicely it must be because seed boxes are kicking my ass if not then im still lost cos even if leachers are only part DLing surly i still must seed some files at higher than 1kb i am confused.com

Not really. As I said partial seeders/leechers are people who already finished downloading parts of the pack, and they are seen in the swarm as leechers. Even with a SUPER DUPER BEST FASTEST EXPENSIVE seedbox won't start a single kb/s if they are all partial seeders/leechers.
