Cuteftp is the best because of the multithread download manager. You can try and increase the threads to get more speeds.

There is alot of reasons why you might be getting low speeds though. What isp do you have as some limit ftp speed?

try using filezilla...if your box is an ovh box, that's probably the reason why ftp speeds aren't that great

It's true that slow speeds could be caused by a number of things. Either the routing from your local PC to your box is not the greatest, the client is limiting speeds, traffic shaping from your ISP, or simply overloads.

It shouldn't really matter if you're on OVH or not. I tend to use Filezilla more often than CuteFTP since most of my downloaded files comes in rar compressed files.

Since you have CuteFTP anyways, I suggest you enable multi-part transfer.

Tools > Global Options > Transfer

Change MAX multi-part transfer to 8 threads.

Make sure Global/site max concurrent transfers are allowed under Tools > Global Options > Connection

I usually have them set to 15 and change it to 50 or so if I'm downloading smaller files.

When you're actually downloading, right-click the file in the Queue Window. Select Multi-part values and change it to MAX.

I only have a 15 Mbps home connection. When using CuteFTP without multi-part transfer, I'll only download at 2 Mbps. With it enabled, it hits a good 14.2 Mbps.

Again, if this doesn't work, try Filezilla Client.

Yes, those are the ones. It doesn't necessarily have to be 15. You could experiment with different numbers and see which is better for you.

is it just me or does it always take this long to finish downloading a 706 Mb file
its feeling like im downloading from pirate bay and that use to take me a good 4-8hrs each movie
but one thing im not understanding is shouldnt it be downloading like it would be if I was downloading from my home connection in my utorrent because that only takes me 15-20mins at least and this FTP is taking forever and just so im clear im not complaining Im just trying to get a better understanding about this thing and I want to master it :p

as an update im at 74% done since my last post now if thats a good thing idk lol
