The most important part is to right-click the current download file and changing the multi-part value to Max.

When you're actually downloading, right-click the file in the Queue Window. Select Multi-part values and change it to MAX.
Could you take a snapshot of the file you're downloading? Perhaps post the log file as well. I'm suspecting you do not have concurrent files downloading. Also, if you're using a more secure FTP encryption, this may severely cripple your download speeds.

Window > Log > Copy Entire

    Hi, TORRENTBEAST,

Your log looks normal, but u are not using multi-part transfer. Even though u have it set in your Global Options u still have to choose this before downloading or it will download the file as default action. To do this dont double click on the file or start the download yet. U need to right-click the file u want to download > choose download advanced > then max 8 parts. Do that then see if your speed increases.

xirvik now has the option for root access. if you have that, maybe someone could walk you through the config settings or just do some google searching and try yourself. i know there are a bunch of very knowledgeable users here (not me, unfortunately) that are willing to help you

Yep, Xirvik does offer root access for dedicated/personal servers. They don't for shared or semi-dedicated which I believe TORRENTBEAST is currently subscribed to.

Anyways, it's probably not too much of a security risk, but you should probably edit out the DNS (server IP) in the log file.

I'm mainly in Ubuntu, so I use Filezilla mainly, it's completely free. CuteFTP is good for multithreaded downloading, but since most of the stuff I download comes in .rar files I can download multiple files at the same time, so having no multithread is not a problem. In fact I use Filezilla in Windows as well, it supports SFTP as well.

In fact, I find CuteFTP to be a bit bloated, I think it has a very messy GUI.

I am also trying filezilla with a few other ftp clients to see which works better for me as or now i am trying out so far and downloading using turboftp atm so lets see how that goes

    cuteftp
    fireftp
    turboftp
    filezilla
    bulletproof
    ftprush
    flashfxp
    winftp

how fast should my ftp be going im getting 250kb atm in cuteftp is this normal? they say cute is the fastest but if feels like im not getting what i should 5-8hrs for a dvdrip? wtf?

I also wonder if i should try and re install cute and see if any speeds increase at all because what im reading it should be close to what i get in utorrent

please somebody follow up on this I still need some advice

I had a lot of problems using ftp with OVH after doing a traceroute I found there was massive data loss crossing the ocean to France so I moved my box to the UK, ftp went from 200kbps to 20mbps, I live in the us. seems a lot of people in the us have problems with OVH ftp speeds. Do a traceroute and ping maybe you have a bad connection to your box.
