Thread: Help me create a custom boot logo

Hey guys, so i installed mac osx on my pc and this time i want to create a custom ipsw for my iphone. I also wanted to add a custom boot logo to the ipsw, but i suck at photoshop, so i was wondering if anyone could help me. Here is the image:





The requirements for the boot logo are:

-320x480 or lower in resolution
-Needs to be RGB or Greyscale
-Needs to have an alpha channel (This means things you want black on the phone, like your background, should be transparent in your image)... If you have a solid image with a black background that you want to use, that's fine, but there NEEDs to be at least a few transparent pixel border around the whole thing when you save it as a png.
-Needs to be saved as a 24bit PNG with transparency enabled
-Needs to be less than 100K

If anyone can help me with this, i would be grateful. It would be nice if you could also remove the thememyphone written at the bottom. Not necessary, but dosent look good in my opinion. Thanks in advance for anyone generous enough to help!

Removed the text and added a 2px transparent border. The only thing I'm not 100% sure about is whether or not it's 24 bit. Sorry. =\

THanks for trying to help, but i dont seem to able to use the image as pwnage tool dosent accept it. Also, te image needs to be below 100K, and this one is 208k. Thanks for trying to help though.

I just converted ethicks' jpg to png -

^^see thats the problem converting to png makes the file 191k . Pwnage tool still does not accept the file :( . Thanks anyways.

Hey scoobydoo here is the converted ethics jpg to png with file size < 100KB , actual size is 74 KB.

Thanks for trying to help bro but i still have no luck :( . pwnagetool still dosent accept this image. Maybe converting jpeg to png has changed something like the "needs to have an alpha channel" part? Though atleast now i have a png thats less than 100KB. can anyone just check the other requirements?

P.S. dankirk could you tell me how you got the file size down? I have lots more images that are 320x480 jpegs that i want to convert to use as boot logos.
