Hi guys,I am here hoping that I'll find a solution to my problem.
To begin with I have windows 7 O.S and my network adapter is Realtek RTL8139/810x Fast Ethernet Adapter. My problem is when I connect to internet, randomly after some time my internet stops working and when I check the status it shows connected but I cannot disconnect or browse any site.I tried everything resetting network adapter or router but nothing works, only solution is to restart my PC which solves the problem temporarily and might occur any time again.I didn't have this problem when I was using vista.Any help will be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi Thor123,
I have the same network adapter on my laptop, on Windows 7 too, without any problem.
    Which driver is installed ?

My brother seems to have this exact problem which leads me to ask, is it wired or wireless?
This seems to be a recurring problem throughout Vista and 7, the cause of which is still unanswered. I looked around for a while and found the same problem with the same useless suggestions. To me this sounds like an encryption/encapsulation problem at Layer 2, depending on a wired or not connection. Update all drivers if you haven't already and don't mess around with settings unless you know what you're doing (goes without saying :P).

Give us as much info as you can, the more the better!

Hi spyro ,I have wired connection and I never got this problem when using Vista.I recently used a software called Reconnect which automatically connects as soon as connection drops but in some extreme case even it is helpless and it goes into infinite loop.I have already mentioned the driver I'm using in the previous post. What other information do you want?

This problem is famously known as "ethernet drop issue" people can try this solution:
Disable Receiver Side Scaling, this can be done in two ways
1.Go to Device Manager->Network Adapters and open the properties of your network adapter, now in the advanced tab, set the receiver side scaling to disabled
2.If you dont have the Receiver Side Scaling option in your Network Adapter properties then you can disable it by running the following command in the command prompt under admin privileges:
netsh int tcp set global rss=disabled

Note: This fix does not work on all systems , problem still persists in some system even after disabling RSS

What value is in the [Link Speed/Duplex Mode] property in your driver advanced tab ? try to set on Auto Negotiation or on Half or Full 10mb value... also this could be a win 7 network issue and overload the cache... let us know if u solved or not
