    Hi there,

Did anybody check if their ratio is getting changed on demonoid lately? Mine is already the same for the last few days. Using osX and Vuze.

I have to say that I haven't used Demonoid for 3 years because I was travelling for 3 years :) Now back home .... Don't ask me how it feels :) but before that I was using windows, so any Mac users experiences would be very appreciated!

    Best regards

I haven't tried it off late but demonoid has always had ratio update problems due to their super large user base. Couple of things to keep in mind -

    1) They update their ratio only once a day
    2) Demonoid doesn't have a passkey system but basically logs in your ip address, so unless you have a static IP every time your ip add changes you'll have log out of demonoid, stop your torrent client, clear your cookies, re - login, and restart your torrent client for the up/download count to register

I'm not sure if this still works but it's worth a try.

Yes. I've watched my Demonoid account the last several days and it has been updating correctly. Perhaps it's an issue with their "new code" ?

    Strange thing though

If I look in my torrent info for the tracker status, it says OK, even if I manually update it...

    very annoying

Is this issue affecting home users and seedbox users? My UL, DL, and Ratio are all at zero; even though I know for a fact that I up'ed several gigabytes on one torrent alone. If Demonoid only tracks my home IP and does not track my seedbox IP as well, it's going to look like I have neither uploaded nor downloaded.

The other problem with Demonoid is the fact that peers can still connect to you if you have DHT enabled. Anyone connected to you that is not a member of the site does not add statistics to your upload. You could be seeding for hours on end but still remain at 0 GB upload when your client is displaying 50 GB transfer. Torrents die faster if you have DHT disabled but most private trackers already do so it's best if you disable DHT from your current BT client as well.

@ AM - I guess your DHT is already disabled, since you'd probably get banned on a few private trackers for enabling it; also you should have noticed ratio problems on a few sites too if it was.

Unless you've requested your ISP for a static IP (for your home connection) you probably have a dynamic ip, so every time your ip switches you'll have to go through the process I've suggested for your ratio to register on demonoid.

I suggest not to use your seedbox on demonoid, it'll suck the life out of it and to make your ratio count you'll have to login to demonoid using your seedbox ip. It's also recommended not to use seedboxes on public/semi - private trackers since it isn't very secure; seedboxes have public ips that can be easily traced to public trackers which do not have a passkey system.

P.S. - Just to make myself clear - in the above I meant stop your torrents (don't shut your torrent client) and then restart them. If you shut your torrent client the previous amount you've ul/dl won't count.

P.S. 2 - You really don't have to go through the trouble of updating your statistics on demonoid - they don't ban members for low ratios - the ratio system is superficial.

I think my Demonoid stats update once a week, lol! I've tried the tricks mentioned above, but it just seems to update when it wants to! I asked in their irc channel what time the stats update, but nobody seems to know.
