Thread: ScT Invite Question

Hi I just have a question. I would be willing to buy 4 invites at sct and invite people, but I really dont want to spend $50 euros (almost $100 CDN) to do so... Would it be possible to get people to pay for just the cost of the invite, with no premiums? I know it sounds like its going against the rules, but I just think that its a lot fairer to the person buying the invites, because at most sites the invites are free. This would make it $12.50 euros per invite.



Any thoughts? I am not trying to go around the rules here, just make it fairer for the one paying for the invites.

I think you can't demand that people buy your invites here. However, you could ask politely for some kind of reimbursement in your GA thread I guess.

The people that buy ScT invites and give them away do so out of generosity, to help our site while at the same time contributing to ScT. I understand what you're suggesting but it comes perilously close to selling invites; the only difference is that you wouldn't be making a profit. Still, I doubt it would be allowed here.

I'm pretty sure someone got banned a few weeks ago for doing this. Unlike thelostark, who made a thread asking if it's ok, this user started a thread and demanded people pay for the invite. I don't think he was profiting or anything either so it's pretty similar to what you're proposing. Either way, I don't think it's a good idea since money is involved.
