Thread: to cross seed or not to cross seed

I've read about some people in the torrent community doing this (cross seeding) and RSS auto downloading by using a seedbox to buffer their accounts on trackers that are very difficult to seed.

What I would like to know is if it's even 'legal' in the eyes of the actual private tracker. I would hate to do something that could potentially put me in hot water, you know?

Any advice on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the people are doing that and It is the best way to build up a ratio. I never thought that would be "illegal" for private trackers 'cause there are stickies in their forums about cross seeding and RSS Auto Downloading. :001_smile:

Agreed. I cross-seed on pretty much all my trackers and I've never had a problem.

I have to learn how to do that! Heh. I'm going to 'run' to the tutorial section and read about it (hopefully there's a thread waiting for me).

is cross seeding the same as putting torrents on multiple trackers cuz all my trackers say DONT lol

Tru_ninja: cross seeding is not loading more than 1 tracker in a torrent, is downloading a torrent from one private site, then download the same from another one and load them both so in the second tracker yo UL without DL.

Its how you build great ratio's and no its not against the rules. If it was there would be a lot less seeders on a lot of sites. Its great to use it when a trackers on freeleech to boost ratios on a lot of sites.

Some trackers don't allow it, like BitMeTV - but they do something to make cross seeding their torrents impossible anyway.

Also, cross seeding is when you download a torrent from one site, and then seed the same torrent at another tracker. For instance, I download a TL torrent, find that torrent on RevTT, and join the seeders. As has already been said, its an excellent way to build ratio.
