Thread: What.cd uploading

So I'm having a bit of trouble uploading stuff to what.cd
I've read the guides there but it's not working for me. I've downloaded the free leech stuff but so has everyone else and I'm not getting the chance to upload



Do you guys have any suggestions as to what I should be doing?

Upload stuff yourself, if necessary from other trackers.

its hard to seed in there

Well I don't really own any CDs

and doesn't what.cd have like everything other trackers have?

Yes, so you should be pretty quick. When a scene release is upped at another tracker, leech it right away and up it at what.cd. Can be a matter of minutes. I can recommend TorrentBytes :: Login for that. They up a lot of new music, all scene (so no worries about quality), and their pre-times are really good when it comes to music. Most of the time within 2 mins after pre.

Do you think jumping on new torrents would work? or is what.cd too intense for this to be beneficial?

Only the better torrents....

If it's a good torrent it will have 20-50 leechers within a minute. If it's a bad one, it'll have like two.

EDIT: and by torrent i mean, if the album is popular.

Upload apps.

Since what is a music tracker (which allows apps) it is much easier to find missing programs worth uploading. Plus apps are generally large. Having one person download it from you is enough to allow you to download a handful of albums.

Don't expect every app to be downloaded, but if you upload a couple, at least one will be downloaded.

Yes, it's best to jump on torrents early. Especially those free leech ones. I've also noticed that jumping onto issues of DCP is a great ratio booster as well. Plus, it's a good idea to stay away from those Rosetta Stone and Pimsleur language packs cause it really is true that most of those leechers are partial seeders.
