Default Cross seeding and Renaming of files. Help.

    Hi.

I've read almost all the threads in this forum with regards to cross seeding. On one of the tutorials, it mentioned to skip hash check but I can't seem to locate that option.

By the way I'm using utorrent webui 0.361. And my seedbox is shared with 4 other people. I really want to try to cross seed over to TL and build a good ratio there.

Secondly, what if the file names are not the same and I want to obtain the 100% mark, what should I do?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If all the file names aren't the same then you may have a hard time obtaining a 100% mark. I have tried renaming files a couple of times and it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. You need to make sure that they are EXACTLY the same size and same file for that to work.

As the skip hash thing I can't any help as I don't use a webgui and can't find it in the regular uTorrent.

Skip hash check isn't available in the webui, only in utorrent itself. To do this you'll need direct access to the client through VNC or similar if using a seedbox. When you load the torrent (assuming you have is set to do not start automatically) there is a tick box on the upper left corner saying skip hash check. Tick it and start the torrent.

Don't think it works well with cross seeding torrents though but it does work well when you create a torrent with another trackers files to upload elsewhere.

If you want to obtain the 100% mark and it hasn't after a check, just start it, it'll download a few KB's normally and start seeding providing the files are the same. Renaming it will work sometimes, other times it won't.

So there's no way to do this unless I have a client? I'm not sure if I'm willing to fork out another 20 bucks just so I can cross seed. I guess most of you'll know that seeding over at TL can be an exhausting task and the waiting time makes it more difficult. That's why I'm trying to follow the advice of others: cross seed.

You can still cross seed without skipping the hash check. just load the torrent up through webui and do the force recheck. Depending on the size of the torrent it might take a while to check but once done it'll start seeding.

It's apparent I still have a lot of learning to do. But thank you for the help. I'll try it out now.

    Edit: It worked! Thanks staffrodore!
