Thread: Advanced iGiver & Rep Questions

First of all, huge thanks to Ravish, Sirius, Adenai and Synthesis for correcting some misconceptions I had on the iGiver & Rep system. Adenai's done an amazing job with his FAQ, but I'm still unclear on a few items.

Can anyone answer these questions:

iGiver

1. Can only give 1 iGiver per user / per day? [True - Nuzza]
2. Daily limit on iGivers you can give to multiple users? [True - Synthesis]
   
3. Only get credit for 1 iGiver from each user, regardless of how many they actually send you? [True - Staffrodore]

Thanks

1. After 5 Thanks per day the button disappears for 24 hours? [True - Balauru]
2. 5 Posts Required before new users see Thanks Button? [True - Dave]
   
3. Thanks button disappears on threads over 30 days old? [True - Staffrodore]
4. Can't Thanks and then Rep, but can Rep and then Thanks. [True - Staffrodeore]
5. Admin ETA to fix glitch on item 4? [Unlikely to be fixed]
   

Reps

1. Rep Power determines number of rep points given? [True - Ravish & Sirius]
2. Neg rep removes the same number of points? [Only 50% of Rep Power - Ravish]
3. Rep Power increases a level for every 30 rep points received? [True - Ravish & Sirius]
4. Negative reps are hidden and will not be displayed under User CP? [False - Sirius]
5. Why only 5 reps displayed in User CP? [Easily changed, but no reason to - Ethicks]
   
6. Have to rep 3 other people before you can rep same person again? [True - Ravish]
7. The 2nd rep to same user limitation resets after 24 hours? [False - Vegas]
8. There is a limit on the total number of reps you can give per day? [False - Sirius]

Still pending as of July 31st:

1. Can only give a total of 3 iGivers per day (multiple users)?
2. Can only give a total of 5 iGivers per day (multiple users)?

Well I know everyone can see the thanks button, you dont have to be 33%. And I'm pretty sure you can only give 1 iGiver per user/per day.

It'd be good to clear this all up, I'm sure there are a lot of confused people...

Can't Thanks and then Rep, but can Rep and then Thanks. Is this intentional or software glitch? Glitch

Is there a limit on the total number of reps that can be given per day?
Might be wrong on this one but other forums running this rep system have limits in place.

No, they are not. I once saw mine ...lol....you see the reason too (in UserCP)

you can give more than 3 igivers per day

im 90% sure this is true

-Are negative reps hidden? Will they be displayed under "User CP - Latest Reputation Received?"
they r displayed under "user cp" like positive reps

-Is there a limit on the total number of reps that can be given per day?
i dont think so. last days i gave many reps

i respectfully disagree on this...

Negative Rep power IMO, is exacly half if your rep power is even. And if its odd, then its the nearest whole number, lesser than half of your rep power.
For example:

Rep power 6, corresponds to negative rep power 3
Rep power 7, also corresponds to negative rep power 3.

I think the rep part is pretty much done....will be checking the iGiver part soon.

Not sure but I guess I'll manage to deal with the char limit and include it in the FAQ - true answers only should do the trick. We'll see, I'm working on it. Repped you all for that.

I am confused. The following 2 statements seem to offer conflicting advice.

Did I misread this? Clarification is appreciated.

Let's say I give person A an invite to tracker A today and I receive an iGiver

Can I give person A an invite to tracker B - tomorrow, next week, or next month and receive a 2nd iGiver from person A that increases my iGiver count or is it simply listed in my user profile and does not increase my iGiver count?

as i had told Vegas.....i am not really sure about my statement on that..
but forgot to edit it here..
it maybe right/wrong, i cant be certain...


but there are cases, where this can be proven wrong..
i mean, i myself have two igivers missing.....Vegas has many...and the only plausible solution to them is through this...
