I have been wondering how to solve this stupid problem for ages now, and hopefully someone here will know how. :)
The thing is, everytime I try to download a torrent at work, I am not allowed because they have a Barracuda Web Filter blocking me from doing so. I have also tried downloading the torrents as text files, and inserting the link in the BT client, but neither method works.
Does anyone have an alternative solution?

Have you tried to sit behind a proxy when you're downloading the file?
That will probabily work but will make you login on the proxy which if you ask me is a big security risk, should be fine for public trackers though.Originally Posted by simonwenn
Depending on how the filter you use works you may be able to get around it using the Firefox plugin FlashGot alongside FlashGet.
Just go to FlashGots options and select FlashGet as your download manager then when you want to download a torrent just right click the download link and select "FlashGot Link".
I warn you this might not work I don't have any experience with Barracuda Web Filter however it did used to let me get around my college web filter.
Oh and yes you need FlashGot because it transfers your login session to FlashGet. You would not need FlashGot if the torrent you where looking for was on a Public Tracker.
