Just read the rules and obey them - every (most of?) section has a sticker thread with them. But in general, just don't be fuckin' lame I guess you're not at all, otherwise you'd mess around already instead of asking for help. Glad you care. This forum is no different than any other, so if you have some experience with that, you'll be fine. Only the marketplace, iGiver and reputation (eco-)systems are kind of tricky things you should learn about in the first place, I guess. Take your time.

Also, don't forget not to make stupid mistakes like using the same nickname on a tracker you get invited to. Things like that seem obvious, but many got banned for that already. 24hrs in here and you should be entirely aware of what's going on.

Asides the obvious that everyone will pinpoint the "read the rules/stickies" I would advise you to be friendly, polite, always take a few more seconds to press a bloody button and rep someone that you think helped you in anyway and above all be honest. People here will appreciate it. Or at least I would... Read around the forums, but don't stick to the rules. Check the suggestions section, the general discussion etc. It will give you an idea of what to expect from people in here and of how actually this community works. Get to know what people think asides running after an FTN invite ;)

If you fuck up say so, don't try to make up stupid excuses. People make mistakes and it's those mistakes that define human nature and learn from those mistakes and make sure not to repeat them. I would give a second chance to someone that had the balls to admit he made a mistake but would never do the same for a liar.
