Thread: A question on invites

Hi I have a question I am pretty new at this but am also fairly active here on this forum and BTW my name use to be traderJim and I guess some folks thought I was a trader which for sure I am not now you can call me PanamaJim and who knows maybe some of you will now think I sell pot lol.

Ok to the question sometimes I get confused around this subject of invites.
I see on some of the sig. lines that if you want any of these invites ask me on IRC. So is it ok to ask? Also is it ok for example if I win a invite I wanted by ratio proofs etc to then ask the person is there a invite your looking for and if I have it give it to them is that Ok in your eyes. To me that is not trading its giving after the fact but its hard to tell where the line is drawn here sometimes. I am asking because I do not want to do something that can get me banned because I simply did not understand the situation and did the wrong thing in your eyes. As for me I never have a dishonest intention but just because I am honest does not mean it will fly here with some of your very strict rules you have. Today is my big day 100 posts and I will say all posts have content .
Well thanks for your time I do enjoy it here but the up and down time on this sites makes me a bit crazy hope that gets fix.

if i understand you correctly...you're saying if you apply for an invite in a g/a thread and you "win" it, you want to know if you can ask somebody in irc if they want it? some trackers, mostly low level, offer invites to new users once registered. if a tracker gives you invites as a new user, i dont see a problem posting them in the invites g/a thread as long as your not trading. it's probably a better idea to post them in the g/a thread rather than go to the irc channel because you'll get more hits in your thread. i hope i understood and answered your question correctly. it was kind of hard to understand.

I think it is fine to offer invites to someone who just gave you an invite. I don't see this as trading since the inviter did not expect anything in return. You are just offering to help a friend who helped you.

YesI know its hard to really understand. What I mean is there are some folks here that are telling folks if you want a invite come to the IRC channel and ask me there so my question is is it ok to go to the IRCchannel and ask for a invite.

You do know that out there in the torrent world there are a lot of folks saying that the pirate bay got what they deserved for bringing and throwing into the face of the public the downloading of copy written material.
I often wondered if they did more good than wrong as far as for the torrent community. What they did do was to bring the awareness of sharing entertainment torrents to everyone where before it was much more in the closet
I really do not know the answer to this.However I do not think its wise to
have a idea like look at me look at me because sooner or later they will look! Just my opinion your millage will vary.

Yes just go to irc and talk to them about getting your invites. IRC can be a giveaway ground too.

As for offering invites to those who have invited you somewhere, it isn't trading. It's actually called mutual giveaway. I mean if i am looking for GFT and someone offers it to me, and i see him looking for a tracker that i have an invite on, i will ofer it to him right now. That's not trading, because nobody really asks for anything in return. You do it on your own free will. You can either do it if you can and want, or don't do it for any reason you might think of.
